Part H — Authorised representatives

Rule 75. Restriction on party's right to be heard

Chapter IX · Appearance of authorised representative

75.1 The rule

The party who has engaged a legal practitioner or authorised representative to appear for him before the Appellate Tribunal may be restricted by the Appellate Tribunal in making presentation before it.

75.2 What it does

Rule 75 lets the Bench stop a represented party from addressing it over his own representative's head. It is a rule about who speaks, not about whether the party is heard — a party who has engaged a representative is heard, through him.
