Part L — Disposal and pronouncement of orders
Rule 102. Power to impose Costs
Chapter XIII · Disposal of cases and pronouncement of orders
102.1 The rule
The Appellate Tribunal may, in its discretion, pass such order in respect of imposing costs on the defaulting party as it may deem fit
102.2 What it does
What the analogous practice actually shows. In the decisions retrieved for this book, costs were fixed at large — as a round sum reflecting the conduct — and never measured on proved expense; and the payee was ordinarily a relief fund or a Legal Services Authority rather than the opposing party, with payment gated on the defaulter's next step in the proceeding. Keep the evidential material by all means, but do not draft a prayer on the assumption that costs will be assessed on your fee notes and paid to your client. Authorities at Part P, P22.
