Overview
In the Union Budget 2026-27, presented in Parliament on 01 FEB 2026 by Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, the Government announced measures for the pharmaceutical and biopharma sector. The Finance Minister said comprehensive economic reforms have been undertaken to generate employment, raise productivity and speed up growth, and stressed scaling up manufacturing in 7 strategic and frontier sectors, pharmaceuticals among them.
